They are not a substitute for the current, officially published edition. These documents are revised periodically; always confirm the latest edition and its applicability with your airport operator, regulator or project specification.

5. Safety-Critical Work

Airfield lighting involves high-voltage series circuits and live airside operations. Any safety-related content (for example isolation, lock-out/tag-out, permits, airside safety) is general orientation only. It does not replace your employer’s procedures, the airport’s permit-to-work and airside rules, local law, or the equipment manufacturer’s instructions. Work on live equipment must be carried out only by competent, authorised persons.
